Working Student - Graphic Designer


Background and Objective APRI - Africa Policy Research Institute is an independent, non-partisan African policy institute researching key policy issues affecting the African continent. Its goals are to provide input to the German and EU policy-making processes on Africa and options on key policy issues to African stakeholders. To do this, APRI taps into the expertise of African intellectuals, scholars, and networks, collaborating with various organizations to conduct policy research that looks beyond prevailing narratives and transcends disciplinary hegemonies to center Africa. Its outputs include reports, policy briefs, and short analyses to expand to other innovative ways of disseminating its work. The APRI Comms Team seeks to engage a working student who is enrolled at a German university to support the mission of informing about and advocating for APRI's work and the APRI network. The student will support a variety of tasks and will come into contact with interesting and diverse colleagues and researchers, as well as exciting topics of research.

Das sind deine Aufgaben:

  • Graphic Design: Creating visually appealing graphics, infographics, and multimedia content for our website, social media, reports and communications materials Collaboration: Working closely with the comms and web team to understand project requirements and help to deliver high-quality visuals for our website and social media. - Optimization: Optimize graphics for web performance, ensuring quick load times and responsiveness across devices. -Consulting: Giving input on graphic solutions - how best can APRI communicate research and information.

  • What you will bring: - Experience in Canva - Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). - Familiarity with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) is a plus.
