Grid Connection Intern

We were established in 2006 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd., one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wind turbines and providers of comprehensive wind energy solutions. We focus on the research and development of wind turprovidersssd the expansion of our presence in the European market. Our core business activities include technical consulting, technical services, import and export operations, the development of wind turbines, and the trade of wind turbine components. We are currently seeking interns for a paid internship with a duration of 3~6 months at Bochum Office in the field of R&D Center.

Your Tasks:

1. Assist grid-connection engineers in the design and simulation verification of grid-connection solutions for wind farms and PV plants;
2. Take part in calculations and report preparation for primary and secondary equipment configuration, reactive power compensation and power quality analysis;
3. Assist in tracking domestic and international grid-connection guidelines, grid codes and the latest policies and standards, and compile benchmarking analysis materials;
4. Participate in research and technical documentation for frontier areas such as grid-forming converters, energy-storage grid connection and integrated wind-solar-storage systems.

Your Profiles:

1. Bachelor's degree or above in progress (master's preferred); major in Electrical Engineering, Power System and Its Automation or a related field;
2. Solid grounding in power system analysis; familiar with grid stability, power quality, low-voltage ride-through and similar concepts;
3. Experience with power system simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or PSCAD/EMTDC is a plus;
4. Detail-oriented, with strong technical writing and learning skills;
5. Available on site at least 4 days per week.
