The Chair of Laser Technology & Spectroscopy at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Helmut Schmidt University / German Armed Forces University Hamburg, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Pronin, offers to the earliest possible date


Student assistant position (m/f/d)

(12,82€/hour - 13,83 €/hour, max. 19h/Week)


for a limited duration of 6 months



The research activities at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering focus on fundamental laser research for civil uses with a special emphasis on spectroscopic applications. Our fields of research range from the development of disk laser oscillators and XUV frequency comb spectroscopy to the investigation of non-linear effects in multipass cells and the laser-matter interaction in <50 fs regime (1 fs = 10-15 s) [1]. The newly developed laser systems and spectroscopic methods offer a broad potential for applications in precision XUV spectroscopy, ultrafast spectroscopy, and ultra-precise, next-generation material processing.


Responsibilities:


  1. Data analysis
  2. Design and implementation of new laser experiments
  3. Design tasks on the computer
  4. Procurement and installation of technical equipment


Qualification requirements:


  1. Basic knowledge of optics and laser physics
  2. Degree in physics, electrical engineering or similar
  3. Good academic performance
  4. Enrolment at a German university
  5. Good written and spoken German and English skills


Valued skills:


  1. Optional: Knowledge of Solidworks, Labview, Matlab, Python, Origin
