Robot Teleoperator (Werkstudent*in) – Humanoid Robotics Startup

We teach humanoid robots to do useful work in real customer environments. As a Teleoperator, you’ll “show” the robot how a task is done—capturing high-quality demonstrations that our ML team uses to train autonomous skills. You’ll work hands-on with real robots in the lab every week and see your work turn into autonomous performance quickly.

What you’ll do:

Below are some of the core focus areas for Teleoperators at RoboService:

1. Recreate customer use cases in our Berlin/Potsdam lab (fixtures, tools, materials) together with our product & sales teams.
2. Operate robots via VR headset and joysticks to perform tasks precisely and repeatably, following clear SOPs and safety rules.
3. Capture demonstration datasets (RGB/depth video, audio if used, joint states, force/torque, IMU) using our teleop stations.
4. Calibrate and prepare sensors with guidance (camera intrinsics/extrinsics, hand–eye checks, basic IMU alignment) to ensure dataset quality.
5. Review and QA your recordings (clip selection, trimming, basic labeling/notes) and hand off clean sessions to the ML team.
6. Support occasional customer-site pilots with the team (optional; expenses covered).
