Interested in scaling a highly-interactive web service? How about tackling problems in machine learning, data mining, and collaborative filtering? Mendeley is a start-up that’s revolutionizing how research is being done. Our development cycle is extremely fast — it’s common to write code and have it running on the live site within hours. Some of the tools and languages we are using include C++, Qt, PHP, memcached, Hadoop, and MySQL. We’re currently hiring exceptional interns who:

If you want to be part of it, here’s your chance: We’re currently looking for a passionate Web Development Intern to join our Mendeley Web team!

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Implement design elements and new features of the Mendeley website
• Code using primarily XHTML, PHP/MySQL, JavaScript and CSS
• Be involved in small backend tasks
• Shape Mendeley with your own ideas, enthusiasm and personality

WHAT YOU SHOULD IDEALLY BRING
• Study Computer Science or a related field in your final year
• Good knowledge developing in JavaScript, AJAX, XHTML, CSS, PHP/MySQL
• “Web 2.0” experience
• A feeling for design and aesthetics
• 6 month’s of your time, start date around September
